Taking down your thoughts

When you get an idea, write it down. A problem that I had a lot when blogging was taking down an idea right when it comes down. My best ideas for writing come when Im out and about and not at home when Im thinking about what to write at home. Ideas come and go so quickly and you need to be ready to take them down.

Taking your ideas down can be as simple as putting it down on a piece of scrap paper to remind you to come back to it. Also, if you have a smart phone, you can use the notes application to take them down.

After you come home and have time, you need to turn your ideas into leads for you to write from. Going onto your blog, start a new article for each idea that you had throughout the day. You don't need to write the article now but that will at least give you something to write about when you are stuck trying to find a topic. If you can find 1 or 2 new topics a day that will easily keep you going because you only need at most an article every day to keep readers interested and coming back.
If you keep this up for a while,  it will really give you a secure foot on your blog and future. Having this stock of topics to write about will help keep consistency of your posting even when you have a loss for ideas.

Creating your Weekly Schedule

Setting time aside to write is an important step in positive growth. You need a plan for the week for how you are going to get new content up for the blog. People gravitate to blogs that are updated frequently. When you don't set a schedule for yourself to post, people will give up on trying to guess when they can get new information. Having a schedule for when your posts come out will be beneficial because readers know when to get on for new content and not be dissatisfied.

Like many of us, he weekdays are busy and your already thinking how I can stay consistent. An alternative can be writing your posts early. When you have time like on the weekends, take advantage of that and write two or more posts. You can simply publish the post on the day you wanted it for. Many blogging programs make it even easier by letting you set the day you want the article to publish then click publish. They do the rest.

Unless you are going to hire someone or compile a large amount of posts before a vacation, it would be a good idea to tell your readers. If they know that the infrequent posting is only for a short period of time, it will keep many people from leaving your site. Provide in a single post what date you are coming back, when to expect new posts, and where you are going. Telling them where you are going helps you connect with your audience. You might also want to consider writing a special post about your experiences on the trip when you get back. It may be off topic from your blog topic but the occasional variety will be appreciated from your readers.

No one is going to be able to write constantly every week so you just need to know how to do deal with it. Telling your readers nothing leads them to think that you have stopped and will lead to a decline in site revenue and viewers. Be open to your audience and tell them truthfully why you can't write ahead of time and you will do fine.

Connecting to Your Audience

Connecting with your Audience

So you have a growing site and are looking for the next step in successful blogs/sites. That step is connecting with your audience. People like to know who the writer behind the blog is. For them to know that you aren't some robot but just another person like themselves helps them connect to you and hopefully return. This article will over the steps to connect with your audience.

The best thing you can do is to write to your articles no different then as if you are talking to them in person. When you are no different then when you are with your friends in your articles, it helps the reader feel like a part of your blog. You get a better reaction from the readers when they don't feel like just another random person but an important part of the blog.

Another step for connecting to your audience is creating an about me page. This tells people a little about you and what they can expect in your future content as well as a quick overview of what they can find right now. In a quick one or two paragraphs, make sure you cover what your blog or site is about, who you are, and providing some personal information that you are comfortable with sharing about what you do outside of this.

The last thing that can really help people get to know you and potentially come back is allowing them to contact you. You can make this as simple as giving them an email or by creating a contact sheet for them to ask and give an email for you to email them back. Either way this gives the reader a way to ask you personally any questions they want as well as getting to know you if they want. It's important to be timely with responses because leaving your readers waiting will easily make them leave and find another site that can provide their needs better.

If you can implement these three things into your site it will help you get readers who constantly come to your site rather than one time viewers. Remember, when you look at the views that you are getting, they are mostly return readers. Gaining one return reader for every 100 views is better than getting one time viewers because you are going in a positive direction in the growth of your blog or site.

Choosing a topic

Choosing a topic is the most important step of making a blog. Many people try to pick the high traffic niche because they think they can direct traffic to them. You need to think differently. When I was young and naive, I thought I could write about these high niche topics and make a profit but you need to pick a topic that you enjoy.

Blogging can become a very profitable endeavor if you are willing to put the time towards it. Getting to the profitable stage takes time and won't come immediately. This is why you need to pick a topic you enjoy. Not only will you probably know a lot about the subject, your articles will come out better because you care about the subject.

Even if you don't think the topic you want to write about has enough people in the niche to be profitable, take a chance. In some ways it is positive to write in less popular niches because it has less writers who you need to compete against. That only works in your favor as it drives more people to your site when they are looking for information for that niche.

Remember that the beginning of any blog or site will be slow and bring little traffic to start. Once you have wrote about 20 articles, traffic will pick up as long as your content is rich and informative. People like a site that has strong and reliable information and as long as you provide that, people will find you you.

Creating Your First Impression

Gaining an audience in the beginning is difficult for many people. You can have the best content out there but you still get little to no views every week. That's because your first impression on a viewer is the one thing that keeps them browsing or leaving your site to find someone else.

When a viewer enters your site, the first impressions on what you have to offer comes from the presentation of your content. Straight content no matter how great it is won't attract a viewer on it's own. You need the icing on the cake. The attention grabber for that moment when the viewer lands on a new site and contemplates whether to leave or stay.

Before deciding how to present your site, think about what the main purpose of your site is. Are you trying to sell a product or share your articles on a particular subject? Your design needs to match that and tell your audience what you can provide for them immediately.

Business: If you are looking to sell a product, a professional site layout is necessary because it grows a viewers trust in you. Not many people are willing to give credit card information online and with many sites, out there to scam customers, you need to dissociate yourself with them.

Sharing your Articles on a Topic: Think about what your site content is about. How can you represent what you have the best? Choosing a layout and design for your site needs to share information with the readers on what they can expect to find on the site.

Spending time to focus on design and presentation is just as important as the quality of your posts. Many views on a website are people who clicked in looking for information and if they don't get instant gratification, they leave. It takes someone who has spent the time needed on presentation and provides for that need that can turn the viewers into a returning audience.

How to have a Successful Startup

When starting a new blog from scratch it is important to make yourself a plan. If you are someone who just tries to get right into it and start up a new blog it will be hard for you to really succeed. To really grow and quickly you need a game plan. In this article, I will go over the steps to creating Your plan to success.

First of all, you need to chose a topic. This is the most important phase because you need to pick something that you love and have a passion for. This was a mistake of mine. Building a blog or site from scratch is a long process. The topic you pick needs to motivate you even when your not getting the following that you hoped for. Also, if you have a passion for the topic you chose, you probably have lots of information that you can share about it that will provide fresh and new content to your blog.

After choosing a topic that you are passionate about, you need to think about the layout. Have a couple of tabs that you can organize with such as your articles, about us, and a way to contact you. Organization is first step to attracting people to your site as it shows that you have put time into it and probably have good content as well.

The last step to the beginning of your blog is monetization. How are you going to turn your idea and audience into steady income? One site that I would suggest to start on would be google adsense. You can sign up with your google account and easily implement it on your blog or site. Adsense is a great way to bringing income to your site because all you need to configure is where you want to leave space for advertisers and google does everything else!

Creating a blog or site from scratch is difficult and many times frustrating. Find that topic that you love and have passion for even if it is a small niche. It's the quality of your articles that make readers keep coming back.
